China was one of the first places I traveled where I realized that being an experienced traveler did not necessarily mean I knew what I was doing. 

I learned that almost immediately.

I had just bought a brand new power bank. I had flown with power banks plenty of times, so it genuinely did not occur to me that this one would become a problem.

It did.

My power bank did not have the CCC marking China required, and it was taken.

Was I thrilled about losing something I had just purchased?
