In December 2023, I cried before my first solo international trip.
Not because I didn't want to go, but because I had no idea what I was doing. How would I get from the airport to my hotel? What if my phone didn't work? What if I got lost? What if something went wrong?
I was so overwhelmed that I flew into Rome the same day my cruise left, because figuring out a hotel and transportation on my own felt scarier than risking missing the ship.
And when I asked experienced travelers for advice, I often felt silly for worrying about things that seemed obvious to them. They weren't obvious to me.
Almost three years later, I've figured out a lot of those "obvious" things. I want to make it easier for you than it was for me.
